Summary

 

JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is a valuable team member who is responsible for providing quality, comprehensive nursing care to a variety of hospital patients. Working with the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN assists in the monitoring and assessment of patients, then implements and evaluates the individual nursing care plans that are developed by a RN to meet the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of every assigned patient.

EDUCATION:

 
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who graduated from an approved school of Practical Nursing with current licensure in the State of Minnesota
    • Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification
      • Must become certified in Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) within six months of hir
        • Must complete a Trauma education course within 12 months of hire

        PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
        • Prior work experience in like or related position

        ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
        • Must be able to speak English proficiently
          • Basic ability to communicate and comprehend
            • Ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities
              • Knowledge of basic nursing skills
                • Knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of medications administered
