The CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center offers internships to exercise physiology majors at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The candidate MUST have had an education track or emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation. This is an unpaid internship and its length is dependent on the school’s requirements.

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is an inter-faith professional education for ministry. It brings theological students and ministers of all faiths into supervised encounter with people in crisis or health transition. The essential elements of CPE include:
- The actual practice of ministry to people
- Detailed reporting and evaluation of that practice
- Pastoral supervision
- A process conception of learning
- A theoretical perspective on all elements of the program
- A small group of peers in a common learning experience
- 400 hours for one unit of CPE
- An individual contract for learning
Pastoral reflection, pastoral formation, and pastoral competence are stressed in the student’s learning activities. CPE serves as a part of the preparation for parish ministry, chaplaincy, lay ministry, teaching, and counseling.

Social work students are accepted for internships in areas that St. Cloud Hospital social workers practice and as patient activity and ancillary responsibilities allow.
The internship is arranged through contact with either the hospital clinical coordinator or with a designated social worker contact. There must be a current contractual arrangement in place with the college sponsoring the student experience. An interview may be requested to assess for appropriate placement.

St. Cloud Hospital / Adult Addiction Services offers full-time unpaid internships for undergraduate students who are completing a chemical dependency licensure preparation course. The student must have chemical dependency as an emphasis and an instructor must confirm that the student has completed the required coursework. You will be required to send a cover letter and resume to the contact person who will arrange an interview. Internships are granted on a competitive basis. Early application before the semester in which the internship is desired is encouraged.

The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) team is excited to offer Master's-level Social Work students a clinical training opportunity and welcomes students who are pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work.
Adult PHP & IOP are both outpatient programs that offer group-based mental health treatment for adults who are experiencing a significant/acute mental health episode and are stable enough to seek treatment in an outpatient setting.
Interested students should be:
- Engaged and in good standing with an Accredited Social Work Master's-level program.
- Entering their final Field Practicum/Internship, approximately 300 hours per semester (Fall and Spring).
- Students are expected to be on-site 3 days a week. This includes daytime hours of 8:00-4:30.

Clara’s House offers internship opportunities for students completing coursework and/or field education requirements in behavioral health, social work, counseling, and other applicable disciplines. Interns at Clara’s House have the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience within a child and adolescent partial hospitalization program (PHP) and may have opportunities to:
- Participate in individual, family, and group psychotherapy under appropriate supervision
- Develop and practice clinical assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
- Support treatment planning and development of individualized therapeutic goals
- Observe and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team collaboration
- Develop skills in clinical conceptualization and understanding of patient needs
- Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate interventions
- Support crisis prevention, intervention, and patient stabilization within the PHP setting
- Gain experience with care coordination, discharge planning, and connection to ongoing services
- Provide therapeutic programming and skill development appropriate to children and adolescents
Intern responsibilities and opportunities will be determined based on the student’s academic requirements, level of training, scope of practice, supervision needs, and program needs. Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Internships
St. Cloud Hospital Addiction Services offers full-time internships for graduate students completing a chemical dependency licensure preparation program. Applicants must have a chemical dependency emphasis in their graduate studies, and their academic instructor must verify completion of the required coursework. These internships are designed to help students fulfill the internship hours and core function requirements established by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) licensure.
Psychotherapy Internships
St. Cloud Hospital Addiction Services also offers graduate-level psychotherapy internships for students pursuing licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Internship experiences include diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, individual psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and group therapy, providing students with comprehensive clinical training in addiction treatment settings.

The Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Team is pleased to offer training opportunities for students pursuing graduate degrees in clinical social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, and clinical counseling.
Training opportunities take place during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Students must be available on Thursday mornings to attend IBH meetings. IBH providers work as a part of a multidisciplinary team in our primary care and specialty care settings. As such, training opportunities may include assessment and treatment services for patients and families with behavioral health and/or medical needs as well as involvement in Collaborative Care Management (CoCM).
