Surgical Care Units at St. Cloud Hospital
These aren’t your typical surgical care units. This team was recognized for receiving the PRISM award that celebrates medical-surgical units that sustain excellence. This is the first unit in Minnesota to receive this nationally recognized award, TWICE!
Add to that, St. Cloud Hospital has achieved Magnet Designation five times, one of just a few dozen in the world to attain such a feat.
Our nurses are there for each other. In fact, the nurses on these units say the number one reason they stay working here is their amazing coworkers.
While we’re adequately staffed already, we’re working to reduce our reliance on the float pool and travelers. Doing so will strengthen provider-nurse relationships and that’s where you come in!
Sur 2 is in the hospital’s east tower addition and Sur 1 was remodeled just this past year.
Surgical Care Unit 1 has 38 Beds. It's been newly remodeled! Our rooms are safer, more aesthetic, and more ergonomic than ever for nurses. All rooms are set up the same, with hand-washing sinks and bariatric lifts in each room. The unit has new flooring, rich blue walls, and digital assignment boards, giving them a calm, modern feel.
In addition to the 14 standard Surgical Care Unit beds, Sur 2 boasts 9 SPCU beds.
