The surgical technologist is a member of the surgical team working with physicians, CRNA’s, registered nurses and other surgical personnel in delivering quality patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during and after surgery. The surgical technologist works under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and/or the surgeon. Maintains a positive attitude in the work environment. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Program required.
Basic knowledge of surgical technologist duties and responsibilities.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy. Certification preferred.
