Summary

 

JOB SUMMARY:
Hires, supervises, schedules, and trains the Nutrition Services employees. Responsible to prepare and serve food in accordance with established applicable standards and policies and procedures. Responsible for stocking food and supplies and training staff to clean the food production areas and equipment. Organizes, implements and evaluates food production, food delivery systems for memory loss, assisted living, and independent living. Purchases food, supplies, and meets with vendors. Provides a dining experience to tenants, residents and guests focusing on hospitality.

EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years supervisory experience
  • Two years of quantity cooking experience with ability to follow quantity recipes and safe / sanitary food handling procedures
  • Two years experience in a long-term care facility in nutrition services preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Dietary Manager 3

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • May routinely use own vehicle for company business
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify nutrition concerns and develop appropriate goals and objectives
  • Familiar with nutrition assessment methods, MDS and OBRA
  • Able to operate institutional cooking equipment
  • Individual initiative and discretion required in carrying out job duties especially in the area of customer relations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Professional and courteous customer service skills
