St. Cloud is our hub and headquarters, the place where our story began in the 1800s with the nuns who laid the foundation for our mission. In over one hundred years, we’ve grown deep roots here and branched out to serve communities across Minnesota.

The St. Cloud area includes facilities in Albany, Clearwater, Cold Spring, Richmond, and Sartell, with well over half of our team working in this region. While we’re proud of our size, these big numbers are made up of many small, close-knit teams. 

Our anchor facility is the five-time Magnet-designated St. Cloud Hospital, where nearly 40% of our team members work! This 489-bed regional referral center offers a Level II trauma center, Level II and III NICU, and is consistently ranked among the best hospitals in the world. It never closes. Our hospital includes more than 130 departments staffed by hundreds of physicians, advanced practice providers, over 1,200 nurses, and other clinical and support professionals.

CentraCare Plaza is our next-largest facility, home to more than 1,000 team members across 100 departments. Other St. Cloud-area locations include Northway Clinic, River Campus, Sartell Clinic, Southway Clinic, South Point, Administrative Services Building, multiple behavioral health sites, CentraCare Sleep Center, Urology Clinic, The Midsota Building, St. Cloud Area YMCA, Sauk Crossing, and CentraCare Square. We also have clinics in St. Joseph, Richmond, Cold Spring, and Clearwater.

Together, we offer a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services, from primary care to specialty care, supported by highly skilled teams and Magnet-designated nursing excellence since 2004.

  • Adult: Provide outpatient treatment services
  • Clinic: Approximately 20-30 patients per day
  • Approximately 5 RNs on staff
  • Patient Population: Serving patients over age 18 who have a substance use disorder (many of our patients also have a co-occurring mental health diagnosis as well).
  • 44-bed unit with 27 allowing for 2 patients including an infant with approximately 129 RNs.
  • Patient Population: Antepartum, L&D, OR/PACU, Postpartum, Special Care Nursery, Level 1 Nursery.
  • 14-bed unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: Critically ill cardiac patients. Examples: post cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure and pre-surgical cardiac patients.
  • 20-bed unit with about 35 RNs
  • Patient Population: Surgical/procedural cardiac patients. Examples: patients with ventricular assist devices (LVADs), coronary artery bypass grafting, mitral and aortic valve repairs and replacements, carotid stenting, carotid endarterectomy, AAA repair and various vascular surgeries.
  • 38-bed unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: Orthopedics, cardiac/endovascular, plastics, neurosciences, pain, dental, eye, bariatrics, podiatry, oral/maxillofacial, vascular, urology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, ranging from infants to 100+ years old.
  • 48 chairs for patient treatments and 3 central line lab spaces with about 25 RNs.
  • Patient Population: Oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, hematology, post-transplant and antibiotics.
  • 40-bed unit with about 84 RNs
  • Patient Population: Level II Trauma Center seeing all ages and conditions.
  • 12 recliner unit
  • Patient Population: Patients who are experiencing a mental health crisis. We serve patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • 489-bed unit because we float within the St. Cloud Hospital with approximately 100 RNs.
  • 15 pre- and post-procedure and 5 procedural rooms with the ability to travel within the hospital for care with about 25 RNs. • Patient Population: Gastroenterology, pulmonology, and bariatrics.
  • 20 adult and 8 adolescent bed unit with about 31 RNs
  • Patient Population: Patients with mental illness and co-occurring disorders (mental health and chemical dependency). Majority of our patients are admitted involuntarily and go through the civil commitment process. Many patients suffer from illnesses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar disorder, acute psychosis, depression and suicidal ideation.
  • 22-bed unit including PPCU, PICU and general with about 30 RNs
  • Patient Population: Newborn to age 17 years of age patients. We also do outpatient sedations, respond to peds codes throughout the hospital and administer nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
  • 17-bed unit with about 23 RNs
  • Patient Population: Post-acute patients transitioning home, but they are more medically complex. Most common: stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, trauma with multiple fractures, amputation and debility.
  • 29-bed unit with about 110 RNs
  • Patient Population: Medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, stroke and cardiac surgical.
  • 19-bed unit with about 48 RNs
  • Patient Population: Seriously ill, step-down adult patients who require more care than on a general medical unit and less than ICU.
  • 25-bed unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: General medical: COPD, gastroenterology bleed, alcohol withdrawal, pneumonia, chest and abdominal pain, pancreatitis, cellulitis and sepsis
  • 27-bed unit with about 50 RNs
  • Patient Population: Adults with chronic medical conditions with acute flare (CHF, liver failure, COPD, renal failure) infectious: pneumonia/respiratory, UTI, wound and sepsis
  • 36-bed unit with about 85 RNs
  • Patient Population: Infants born requiring a critical care environment.
  • 45-bed unit, 8 being neuro progressive care (higher acuity), with about 87 RNs.
  • Patient Population: Craniotomies, cranial bypass surgeries, aneurysm clippings, cervical fusions, lumbar fusions. Stroke, seizure, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s disease, GuillainBarre syndrome. Thrombectomies, cerebral angiograms, aneurysm stentings or coiling, neuro trauma and traumatic brain Injury.
  • 14-bed unit with about 25 RNs
  • Patient Population: Adult medical, surgical, post procedure and cardiac. It’s a short stay unit frequently caring for chest pain, syncope, dehydration, pain management, infections, laparoscopic surgeries and patients needing rehab placement
  • 39-bed unit with about 75 RNs
  • Patient Population: Serving 3 different adult patient populations: medical, oncology, and end of life. Perfect for nurses looking to use a variety of skills and provide holistic care to patients and families.
  • 29-bed unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: Total hips, knees, shoulders, traumas, fractures, infections of joints, some medical overflow which adds to some variety.
  • 33-bay unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: Orthopedics, cardiac/endovascular, plastics, neuro, pain, dental, eye, bariatrics, podiatry, oral/ maxillofacial, vascular, urology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, ranging from infants to 100+ years old.
  • 26 operating rooms, typically 19 running daily with about 55 RNs.
  • Patient Population: Caring for all surgical patients except transplant recipients and burn victims in the operating room.
  • Sur1 is a 38-bed unit with about 60 RNs
  • Sur2 is a 23-bed unit with about 40 RNs
  • Patient Population: Post-op care unit that cares for patients that need hospitalization after surgery. We care for patients from general surgery, urology, vascular surgery, OB/GYN, plastics, bariatrics, ENT and trauma. Our average length of stay is about 3.5 days.
  • 36-bed unit with about 70 RNs
  • Patient Population: Arrhythmias, chest pain, heart failure, angiogram, angioplasty, pacemaker, EP study, ablation, TEE/CV, cardizem drip, amiodarone drip, nitro drip and heparin drip.
  • A mobile team that responds to patient consults throughout the organization and we have about 20 RNs.
  • Patient Population: Patients of all ages and departments throughout St. Cloud Hospital.
