Showcasing Your Skills

Resume
Your resume is a great place to highlight the skills you’ve gained from different jobs or life experiences. Focus on what you’re good at and how you’ve used those strengths to make a difference.

Cover Letter
A cover letter lets you tell your story. It’s your chance to explain how your skills match what the employer is looking for — even if your experience comes from a different field. Use it to share what makes you a great fit.

Interview
The interview is your time to shine. Be ready to talk about what you’ve done, how you helped, and what you learned. It’s also a great way to show your communication skills by being clear, confident, and genuine.

Priority Status

Purpose

To provide support to team members impacted by a workforce reduction by offering priority status for open positions. This program is intended to enhance opportunities for qualified team members during the hiring process, but it does not guarantee placement or a job offer.

Priority status applies to team members affected by a workforce reduction. For positions covered under a collective bargaining agreement, the hiring process will continue to follow the terms outlined in those agreements.

Procedure

1. Priority Status Eligibility

  • Team members impacted by a workforce reduction will be eligible for priority status consideration for open positions for which they apply and meet the minimum qualifications (requirements). Priority status candidates will be reviewed and considered before non-priority applicants.
  • If multiple priority status candidates apply for the same position, all priority candidates that meet the minimum qualifications (requirements) will be considered for the position.

2. Priority Status Terms

  • Team members who meet the criteria for priority status will retain eligibility for a period of up to six (6) months from their separation date (last day worked).
  • Once a team member accepts and is placed into a new position through the priority status program, their priority status eligibility will end. Any subsequent job applications will be subject to CentraCare’s standard hiring process.

3. Application Process

  1. Team members are responsible for actively identifying and applying to positions that align with their qualifications. To be considered for priority status, the following requirements must be met:
    • The team member must meet all minimum qualifications (requirements) as outlined in the job posting.
    • The team member must submit an application through CentraCare’s online application system while the position is actively posted and accepting applications.
  2. Job qualifications will be reviewed and confirmed prior to advancing in the hiring process. Team members who do not meet the minimum qualifications (requirements) will not be considered for the position.
  3. Priority status team members will go through the standard hiring process that may include an initial screen, department interview, and reference review.

4. Implementation

  • The Human Resources department will oversee the implementation of the priority status program and ensure that impacted team members are given priority status in accordance with the guidelines. CentraCare reserves the right to revoke priority status at its sole discretion.
