Showcasing Your Skills

Resume
Your resume is a great place to highlight the skills you’ve gained from different jobs or life experiences. Focus on what you’re good at and how you’ve used those strengths to make a difference.

Cover Letter
A cover letter lets you tell your story. It’s your chance to explain how your skills match what the employer is looking for — even if your experience comes from a different field. Use it to share what makes you a great fit.

Interview
The interview is your time to shine. Be ready to talk about what you’ve done, how you helped, and what you learned. It’s also a great way to show your communication skills by being clear, confident, and genuine.

Priority Placement Program

This program supports employees impacted by a workforce transition by offering priority consideration for open positions. While it aims to improve opportunities for qualified employees during the hiring process, it does not guarantee placement or a job offer.

  • CentraCare will not proactively reach out to employees to identify new roles.
  • This policy applies to all employees affected by a workforce transition.

1. Priority Placement Eligibility:
  • Employees impacted by a workforce transition will be eligible for priority placement consideration for open positions for which they apply and             meet the minimum qualifications. Priority placement candidates will be reviewed and considered before non-priority applicants.
  • If multiple priority placement candidates apply for the same position, preference will be given to the individual(s) whose qualifications most                     closely align with the requirements of the role.
  • Priority placement may not be used to advance career leveling (i.e. moving from an individual contributor role to a leadership role). In those                      circumstances, the standard hiring process will ensue.

2. Priority Placement Terms: Employees who meet the criteria for priority placement will retain eligibility for a period of up to six (6) months from their separation date (last day worked).

Once an employee accepts and is placed into a new position through the priority placement program, their priority placement eligibility will end. Any subsequent job applications will be subject to CentraCare’s standard hiring process.

3. Position Placement: Employees are responsible for actively identifying and applying to positions that align with their qualifications. To be considered for priority placement, the following requirements must be met:

  • The employee must meet all minimum qualifications as outlined in the job posting.
  • The employee must submit an application through CentraCare’s career site while the position is actively posted and accepting applications.

Job qualifications will be reviewed and qualifications confirmed prior to advancing in the hiring process. Employees who do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered for the position.

Note: For positions covered under a collective bargaining agreement, the hiring process will continue to follow the terms outlined in those agreements.

Priority Placement Revocation

  • Priority placement eligibility may be revoked at CentraCare's discretion for reasons including, but not limited to, repetitive job offer declines, failing to attend scheduled interviews, not adhering to the priority placement policy, engaging in unprofessional conduct, or any actions that violate CentraCare’s code of conduct.
