PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

  • CentraCare does not offer rotations to online-only programs.
  • Programs must require on-campus advanced clinical assessment skills training.
  • Solicitation of preceptors or presenting predetermined preceptors is strictly prohibited.
  1. CentraCare assigns all preceptors to ensure equitable placement, appropriate scope-of-practice supervision, and consistent alignment with organizational capacity.
  2. Failure to follow this process may result in rotations being declined.
  • An active academic affiliation agreement with CentraCare is required before approval.

PLACEMENT EXPECTATIONS
  • Rotations may occur at any CentraCare service area location, including Albany, Baxter, Becker, Benson, Big Lake, Clearwater, Cold Spring, Eden Valley, Litchfield, Long Prairie, Melrose, Monticello, New London, Paynesville, Redwood Falls, Richmond, Sartell, Sauk Centre, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, and Willmar.
  • Once a preceptor or schedule has been identified, no adjustments will be made.
  • Students must be willing to work around the preceptor’s schedule, location, and availability.

APP STUDENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Applications for APP students who are not current or former CentraCare employees will not be considered until 4 months prior to the requested start date.
  • Eligible non‑employee APP students may be considered for a rotation based on available capacity. They may receive one rotation initially, and additional rotations may be approved if capacity allows.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS & DEADLINES
  • All applications must be received at least 5 weeks prior to the requested rotation start date.
  • All application steps and required documentation must be completed by the deadline listed in Clinician Nexus to guarantee an on-time start date.
Failure to comply may result in a delayed start or rotation cancellation.

ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW PROCESS
  • CentraCare will approve, waitlist, or decline applications in Clinician Nexus based on organizational prioritization, capacity, and/or regulatory guidelines.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee rotation approval.

COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS
  • Students and program coordinators must monitor onboarding progress and respond promptly in Clinician Nexus.
  • Each academic program must designate a backup contact to respond during staff absences.
  • Failure to respond promptly may result in lost learning opportunities.
